Between Tides

Designed hand pieces inspired by the ocean

Where Two Shores Meet

Where California meets Galicia, on the northwest coast of Spain — each piece a functional work of art.

Each bowl begins with natural wood that is carefully finished with coastal designs, inspired by movement and ocean life.

The artist behind Between Tides

My Story

Two coasts, one craft — a life shaped by the sea.

The PacificThe Atlantic

The name comes from my life lived between two coasts — the Pacific in California and the Atlantic in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. In both places, the ocean shapes everyday life, and that influence naturally found its way into my work.

Each piece begins with natural materials — wood and elements shaped by the sea — and is carefully finished with simple, coastal designs.

These are not just decorative objects, but pieces made to be used and lived with. Functional art that brings a sense of calm and connection — pieces shaped by the rhythm of the ocean and designed to be part of everyday life.

The Process

From natural wood to finished piece

01

Material

Each bowl begins with mango wood, chosen for its durability and natural grain.

02

Preparation

The interior is sanded, primed, and painted in layers, with light sanding between coats to create a smooth surface.

03

Design

Designs are created, arranged, and carefully placed inside the bowl.

04

Finishing

The bowl is sealed with multiple coats of food-safe resin for a smooth, durable finish.

Each bowl is a one-of-a-kind, designed, functional piece of art.

Good to Know

Questions

Are the bowls food safe?

Yes. Each piece is made of mango wood and sealed with multiple coats of food-safe resin. The bowls are perfect for salads, fruit, pasta and snacks. They are not meant for hot foods.

How should I care for my piece?

Hand wash only, with mild soap and water, and dry right away. Please do not soak, and do not use in the dishwasher or microwave.

Do you take custom orders?

Yes, I'd love to hear your ideas. Send me an email with what you have in mind — colors, size, or a design — and we can talk about it.

How long does each piece take to make?

Every piece is made by hand in layers, with drying time between each coat, so each one takes time to finish properly. For a custom piece, I'll give you an estimated timeline when you get in touch.

Do you ship internationally?

Please email me with your location and the piece you're interested in, and I'll let you know the shipping options.
